The story of South Africa as a nation does not stop at how they battled and conquered apartheid pre-1990s, their music has also pushed them beyond the frontiers of Africa. Time was when South African music was used as an instrument to conquer oppression, as displayed in the movie called Sarafina  , consequently, they are among the nations that produce barnstorming music.
Strangely, the South African music sphere is not limited to the normal house, hip-hop, R&B music, they have their own peculiar genres like the Gqom, Amapiano and kwaito music which is their own invention. Lucky Dube
Luky Dube, who was a Raggae musician and Rastafarian recorded the excess of 22 albums during his lifetime. He made several hit tracks and was very well known in the world that he was invited to be a part of the Independence concert of Zimbabwe in 1980. He shared the stage with revolutionary pan-Africanist Bob Marley, and this was even at the beginning of his career. His performance was timid but impressive at that time.

Sho Madjozi
You cannot talk about South African music without the mention of Sho Madjozi, who is among the artistes are revolutionizing their music and changing the narrative. The Limpopo born and award winning musician has done music ranging from Gqom, to Hip Hop and Afro Pop which earned her an invite to perform the famous “Kona” in Zimbabwe.
The aforementioned BET Award winner has performed on several stages in Zimbabwe and there are indications that she might return to deliver more bangers there.

Master KG

While Master KG is still reveling in the ambiance of the success of his song “Jerusalema”, his collaboration with Enock “Nox” of Zimbabwe in “My Melody” appear to be breaking grounds for the youngster’s career even beyond his country.
Before his breakthrough, Master KG had a stop-over in Zimbabwe to deliver his first experimental single “Situation”. He is still very well loved in the country and there is no telling when he’d return to deliver another barnstorming performance.

Miriam Makeba

Miriam Makeba might have passed on, her music is still ever green. The greatest impression she left was not just her vocal dexterity, she knew how to perform on stage and thrill her fans to her dance steps.
She began her career with a group who had performed “Mbube” a style of vocal harmony which drew on American jazz. The said song went viral and in quest to see the oppressed, she was an activist who used music to lay bare her mind. Before her exile in America, she had sang in a church service in Zimbabwe before their independence in 1980.
